Inspired Comfort Award Recognizes Exceptional Patient Care  

Cherokee Uniforms, a leading provider of healthcare apparel, is accepting nominations for its 11th annual Inspired Comfort Award. The award recognizes nurses, nursing-school students, and other non-physician healthcare professionals who have taken extraordinary and inspiring steps to serve their patients and their communities. The deadline for nominations is August 1, 2013.

Nomination categories include Registered Nurses (RNs), Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs), Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs), students enrolled in nursing school, and other Non-Physician Healthcare Professionals.

“Inspired Comfort Award recipients are recognized for going above and beyond to demonstrate exceptional service, sacrifice and innovation in patient care,” said Michael Singer, Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Partners, Inc., the parent company of Cherokee Uniforms. “We encourage those in the medical community to take note of nurses and other staff who go the extra mile to ensure patients receive the best care possible.”

Nominations for the 2013 Inspired Comfort Award may be submitted online at Since 2003, more than 10,000 healthcare providers have been nominated, with nearly 100 honored as Inspired Comfort Award winners.

“I never thought that I would be awarded for doing something that is so special to me,” said Jill Zuleg, an obstetrics nurse at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL and a 2012 Inspired Comfort Award winner. “It’s a great feeling that people really see what you do, how you’re helping other people and acknowledge that. That has meant a lot to me.”

For every healthcare professional nominated through August 1, 2013, Cherokee Uniforms will make a donation to Nurses House, a national fund that provides short-term financial assistance to registered nurses facing serious hardship.

Grand Prize winners in each category will receive an all-expenses-paid Caribbean cruise for two.  All other winners will receive:

  • An all-expenses-paid trip to a 2014U.S.medical conference of each winner’s choice; and
  • An annual membership to their preferred clinical association.

All winners receive:

  • A wardrobe featuring the best of Cherokee Uniforms and Cherokee Footwear worth more than $1,000;
  • A crystal Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award, a 14K gold-plated commemorative pin;
