The 1D Clinic is comprised of 6 chemotherapy infusion rooms and 8 infusion chairs, and includes a patient/family waiting and learning center operational 365 days a year. Services include:
Chemotherapy/Targeted therapies/Biologic therapies
Transfusions/Antibiotic/Electrolyte replacement/Hydration therapies
Administration of intravesical treatments and management
Management of graft vs host disease using targeted therapies
Patient call center activities
Diagnostic labs testing/Vascular access device management
Care associated with clinical trials/Pharmacokinetics
Assessment and management of disease and/or treatment side effects/Patient teaching
Hematologic therapy (growth factors, gammagard, etc.
Management of research/clinical trial therapies (weekends)
Management of post bone marrow transplant antifungal/antiviral therapies
Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, includingadherence to theworkplaceCode of Conduct, Compliance Plan, and organizational dress code. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty. Maintains confidentiality.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- BSN (Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing) required.
- 3years of recent clinical RN experience in chemo administration.
- Current California RN License.
- Current American Heart Association BLS
