The School of Health Science’s Department of Nursing, at the College of Staten Island (CSI), currently seeks candidates for a tenure track position in Nursing at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. This position is anticipated to begin in September 2018. The Department offers AAS, RN to BS, MS (CNS, NP, and Certificates), and DNP (2017) degree programs. The Nursing Department is a member of the consortium of three senior CUNY colleges that offers a PhD in Nursing Science at the CUNY Graduate Center. The CSI Nursing Faculty position presents an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidate to participate in the continued intellectual and institutional growth and development of the long-standing Nursing Department within the City University of New York.

The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a City University of New York (CUNY) senior College organized around two academic divisions and three schools, with over 14,000 students. CSI offers a broad range of academic programs in the liberal arts and sciences, and in several professional areas. The College awards associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and clinical doctoral degrees, and in collaboration with The CUNY Graduate Center, numerous Ph.D. degrees. CSI’s internationally recognized faculty passionately engage in scholarly and artistic activities, and together with a strong professional staff, lead students through transformational learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. The College is situated on a 204-acre site, has recently incorporated a residential component, and is currently engaging in capital expansion. It is a hub of intellectual and artistic activity and a community partner and source of economic impact and job creation for the greater Staten Island area.

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate and masters’ degree in nursing. Candidates must have or be eligible for a New York State RN license; the ability to teach successfully; a history of scholarship and service; commitment to inclusive excellence; strong communication skills; and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Preferred qualifications include:
• PhD or EdD
• Record of Scholarship including publications, an active program of research, grants, and other scholarly achievements
• Record of teaching experience in a variety of programs including graduate education (NP, CNS, and DNP programs)
• Experience with active learning strategies and simulation reflective of current best educational practices
• Experience with accreditation and writing curricular reports
• Clinical Expertise (all specialties will be considered with particular attention to Adult-Gerontology Health, Primary Care, Maternity, Medical-Surgical, and Child Health specialties
• Specialty certification
• Record of Service including academic and professional service, and mentoring.

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
