Calvin College is a top-ranked liberal arts college in Grand Rapids, Michigan that equips students to think deeply, to act justly, and to live wholeheartedly as Christ’s agents of renewal in the world. Approximately 3,600 Calvin students study the liberal arts and select from a broad range of majors and professional programs. The Nursing Department uses a community-based philosophy that educates students to provide care for persons as they move between home and health care systems. Students have robust learning experiences in acute care settings and in four urban, ethnically diverse, underserved neighborhoods. Faculty scholarly agendas include CBPR on depression/anxiety and unintended pregnancy as well as an interdisciplinary fall prevention program, IPE, and simulation outcomes. We are accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track position, beginning in August 2019, as Assistant Professor of Nursing in one of the following areas: care of pregnant women, mental health, care of children, or simulation.


Education and Experience: Faculty members are expected to be excellent teachers and have a track record of (or strong potential for) scholarly work. Successful candidates will have a PhD in nursing or DNP and be eligible for licensure in Michigan.

Faith and Educational Commitment: Faculty members are expected to have a: 1) Commitment to the Christian faith. 2) Commitment to the integration of one’s faith with learning, particularly in one’s area of expertise and student development. 3) Commitment to the educational mission of Calvin College as a Christian liberal arts college in the Reformed tradition, affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church.
