Under minimal supervision, the Director – Clinical Learning Resource Center (CLRC) develops and executes the systems and processes needed for effective operations of the CLRC across six (6) regional campuses of the College of Nursing. The Director leads the CLRC team within the CON in the use of advanced and innovative technology and techniques to support the teaching/learning needs of undergraduate and graduate students in a fiscally sound manner. Develops and implements strategic initiatives to improve and strengthen CLRC programs across all campuses which includes but is not limited to simulation, clinical programs, remediation, and student success.
Clinical Learning Resource Center Management and Operations
As a member of the leadership team in the College of Nursing’s Academic Affairs, determines, plans and establishes strategies to improve and strengthen the CLRC across six (6) regional campuses.
Provides leadership to ensure the day to day operations of the CLRC.
Identifies opportunities for improvement, innovation, implementation and integration of patient simulation technology into existing and proposed curricula.
Provides oversight in the design, development and implementation of CLRC training programs for faculty, to ensure the delivery of the highest quality and most innovative educational methods.
Promotes faculty teamwork, continuous staff development and curricular evaluation within the CLRC.
Collaborates with faculty across all campuses to develop and implement innovative pedagogy and evidence-based teaching practices in a laboratory environment for undergraduate and graduate students.
Collaborates with faculty to develop advanced interdisciplinary simulation programs with other schools of health within and outside the institution.
Supports research efforts associated with simulation-based education.
Engages with key constituent and accrediting bodies, and develops strong relationships internally and externally with colleagues, stakeholders, faculty and staff.
Promotes Center’s recognition at local, regional, national and international conferences.
Prepares the annual budget, monthly reports, monitoring revenue/ expenditures, managing funding sources, and ensuring maintenance of contracts.
Ensures that financial, capital, and operational resources are aligned with the college mission and goals.
Identifies grants/partnerships and funding opportunities for simulation education and growth.
Plans, assigns and reviews work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met.
Hire, train, develop and manage staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.
This is an administrative scholar position with faculty appointment commensurate with rank and scholarship.
Requires a doctoral degree or a master’s degree in nursing and enrollment in a doctoral program, along with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in nursing or related health care field. Must be a licensed Registered Nurse, in good standing.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in simulation (e.g. developing simulation case studies), interprofessional simulation, simulation assessment/evaluation and debriefing methods.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent communication and organization skills, with experience using public relations principles and practices.
Experience in strategic planning to effect change in a multi-cultural environment.
Ability to mentor and develop faculty in the areas of simulation, debriefing and other educational technologies.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Ability to think, reason, and make sound judgments on how responsibilities are completed in compliance with college standards.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes travel to regional campuses.
