The Human Resources Office is accepting applications for the following faculty positions within the Allied Health Department:

The Surgical Technology Instructor position is a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start date of January 2015, though the start date may be negotiated. This position requires effective teaching, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The successful candidate will teach and advise a diverse student population enrolled in the Surgical Technology program, communicate class content to students so that learning occurs, skills are developed, and students are motivated to learn and achieve their educational objectives. In addition, the instructor will participate on departmental and College committees, work as a team member in curriculum development, support activities that foster retention, participate in the selection of textbooks, and take part in other service and professional development activities. This position reports to the District Academic Department Head, Allied Health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current credentials in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA); five years’ experience in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology or a combination of the two; graduation from an accredited institution with an associate degree in a health-related field; and a current American Heart BLS card. Successful results of a criminal background check and drug screen required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Active, unrestricted Florida RN license; and documented experience or training as an educator.

SALARY RANGE: $32,251.00 – $38,251.00 (Entry level salary is computed and based on authority of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.)
