Nursing Programs at Santa Fe College provide quality nursing education that is student-oriented, accessible to a diverse student population, and based on the healthcare needs our community. Currently, Nursing Programs offers three degree programs including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), as well as the License Practical Nursing to Associate of Science in Nursing Bridge program. In addition Nursing Programs offers postsecondary adult vocational courses for Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Practical Nursing which prepare students for better career opportunities. All of the programs within Health Sciences’ Nursing Programs are accredited by the Southern Association of Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), however the BSN is additionally accredited nationally by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), while the ASN is recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Nursing Programs is seeking three (3) full-time faculty (9-month contract)* members to provide didactic, lab and/or clinical instruction primarily in maternal infant, however secondary instructional duties are required within medical surgical and/or other nursing discipline areas including associated clinical sessions. This position is begins August 2016 and interviews will are tentatively scheduled for July 18th-22nd. *Nursing faculty have a primary 9-month contract based on teaching 30 credit hours but are also issued a supplemental contract (which may have different terms and conditions) to compensate for additional instructional duties required by full-time nursing faculty during Summer A.
Responsibilities and duties include:
• Deliver instruction in didactic, lab and clinical settings to promote student success.
• Participate in planning, organizing and developing curriculum for the Nursing Program.
• Supervise, evaluate and mentor students in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
• Appropriately document student progress in clinical sessions.
• Proctor exams for the Nursing Programs.
• Participate in departmental and team meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a current active RN or ARNP Florida license is required. Current clinical experience is required with relevant teaching experience preferred. A criminal background check will be conducted.
