The Human Resources Office is accepting applications for the following faculty position within the Nursing Department:

NURSING INSTRUCTOR (11-month) – JOB #2038
The Nursing Instructor position is an 11-month, tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start date of August 2012 or January 2013, as negotiated. This position requires effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The mission of the Department of Nursing is to provide quality educational opportunities for students seeking to enter the healthcare arena as associate degree nurses, practical nurses, or surgical technologists and to meet the health care needs of the community. The successful candidate will teach a broad range of courses in the department with the possibility of day, evening, weekend, or on-line teaching assignments. Teaching duties will primarily be in the BSN program but may include assignments in any program offered by the department. Duties include, but are not limited to, working on college and departmental committees, developing program curriculum and accreditation reports, collaborating with clinical agencies in the community, and participating in staff development opportunities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master’s degree in nursing, current Florida license without restrictions in Florida or eligible for Florida licensure, American Heart BLS card, and two years current experience required. Successful results of a background check and drug screen required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a doctorate in nursing, and post-secondary teaching experience.

SALARY RANGE: $44,356.00 – $50,356.00 (Entry level salary is computed and based on authority of the Collective Bargaining Agreement).
