The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences Department of Nursing Education seeks applications for one (1) faculty position within the Department of Nursing at the instructor, assistant or associate professor level to join our energetic, creative faculty and growing Nurse Practitioner program.
Basic Qualifications: Applicants must be registered nurses and certified adult or family nurse practitioners, have teaching experience and proof of scholarship as evidenced by means such as articles, book chapters, and/or presentations. The successful candidate hired at the Assistant or Associate level will have earned a doctorate in nursing or a closely related field. Those with a master degree are eligible to apply for the rank of Instructor.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who have teaching and research experience in areas including, but not limited to, primary care, adult or family nurse practitioner, obstetrics, pediatrics, medical surgery, mental health, health policy, and quality management. Demonstrated use of and a commitment to technology and web-based teaching is also preferred.
This is a 12-month position. Rank, salary, and employment in either a tenure or non-tenure track faculty positions will be commensurate with experience. Review of applications will begin March 8, 2010, and continue until the position is filled.
