The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s College of Nursing seeks Assistant / Associate Professor for its Department of Nursing beginning in January of 2013. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.
The Nursing Department in the College of Nursing offers 2 undergraduate degree programs which include the Bachelors of Science in Nursing and the Registered Nursing to Bachelors of Science in Nursing. The Department also offers a Master of Science degree in nursing.
UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 18,000 in the heart of central Texas. Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.
Faculty Responsibilities: Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching, curriculum development and student advising; professional attainment; and service to department, college, university, and the community. While primarily a teaching institution, UMHB recognizes and rewards research, publication, and other forms of scholarly attainment.
Specific Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses in nursing with a specific focus of Family Nurse Practitioner and related subjects. Full-time faculty members typically teach 12 hours per semester with three course preparations.
Qualifications: Certification and advance practice license as a nurse practitioner is required. Doctoral degree in Nursing or Nursing Education or related field. Master’s Degree in Nursing will be considered if candidate is actively pursuing a doctorate. Tenure track requires terminal degree in hand. Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential. Must be active, committed Christian.
