Provides learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the Lone Star College System and the community. Responsibilities include learning facilitation, personal and professional development, and institutional and community service. Primary functions are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.
Teaches Associate Degree and Vocational Nursing courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs.
Plans, supervises, and evaluates student clinical experiences in assigned health care facilities and in simulation lab, and initiates conferences with students encountering clinical difficulties.
Communicates objectives for student performance to the clinical facility administration and nursing staff.
Serves on college and System committees, as required, and serves as a community resources person, representing the college to outside groups as needed.
Works collaboratively with other faculty, CE staff, departments and division on schedule development, marketing events, faculty recruitment, hiring, classroom observation, student recruitment and retention efforts, budget development, and special events.
Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Position is eligible for $1000 market stipend per contract month.
Master’s degree in Nursing and 3 years non-teaching work experience in the field.
Must hold a current unencumbered Texas RN license.
