UPMC Health System Chair in Nursing Science:
The candidate for this full-time tenured position should be an outstanding nurse scientist with a program of research that has direct application to nursing practice and is recognized by experts as having made significant contributions to the discipline of nursing. Responsibilities include maintaining an active program of research directly related to the practice of nursing, providing direction to patient care, and providing mentorship to faculty and doctoral students whose research is consistent with this overall direction. Qualifications for this tenured appointment include an earned doctorate in nursing or related field, evidence of sustained scholarly productivity, evidence of excellence as a teacher, and expertise recognized at the national / international level. The focus of this position is to add to the knowledge base of the discipline of nursing for the purposes of improving health, decreasing disability and aiding recovery from illness and trauma. The School of Nursing seeks exceptionally-qualified candidates for a senior-level faculty position focused on research in oncology nursing. The candidate for this full-time tenured position should be an outstanding nurse scientist with a program of research that is related to oncology nursing, one who is recognized by experts as having made significant contributions to the discipline of nursing. Responsibilities include maintaining an active program of research directly related to oncology nursing (scholarship in psychosocial care preferred), and providing mentorship to faculty and doctoral students whose research is consistent with this overall direction. Qualifications for this tenured appointment include an earned doctorate in nursing or related field, evidence of authoritative knowledge and reputation, evidence of excellence as a teacher, and recognition as a leader in the field. Research Assistant Professor:
This full-time non-tenure stream position is available for a candidate with a currently funded career development award (e.g., NIH K series) that will transfer to the University of Pittsburgh upon hiring. The sponsored award will support a minimum of 75% of the applicant’s salary support. Unfunded effort may be devoted to teaching, research and service activities.
