Description: We are seeking a dynamic PhD prepared nursing faculty member for a Geriatric Nursing tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate, Or Professor rank depending on qualifications, beginning Fall 2018. The opportunity is for the Robert and Edith Cochran Endowed Professorship in Gerontology at the CSUB Nursing Department. The successful candidate will provide theoretical and clinical teaching and advising for undergraduate nursing students. He/she will plan and supervise clinical nursing experiences for undergraduate students in Gerontology and Medical- Surgical Nursing, and collaborate with faculty in developing, implementing and evaluating the nursing curriculum. The successful candidate will participate in and initiate professional scholarly activities in the field of geriatrics, advise nursing students interested in professionally-related services to the department, university, and community. The Department of Nursing is also currently seeking a Department Chair; senior-level faculty with experience at the Director or Assistant Director level may be considered for this position.

Qualifications: 1) Doctorate in nursing or related field is preferred; 2) Master’s degree in Nursing from a nationally recognized, regionally accredited school is required; 3) Meet the requirements for Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank; 4) Minimum of one year teaching experience in Gerontology and Medical-Surgical Nursing in a baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program; 5) At least one year full-time clinical experience (within the last five years) in Gerontology and Medical-Surgical Nursing; 6) Eligible to hold an active and clear license to practice as a professional nurse in California; 7) Eligible for approval as a Nursing Instructor by the California Board of Registered Nursing; 8) Possess the health qualifications to teach students in the clinical setting.
