Job Overview

Traditional BSN Program: Organizes, administers, implements, and evaluates the overall effectiveness of the academic program. Assures effectiveness of the academic program as per relevant accreditation and/or regulatory bodies. Provides leadership within the program and facilitates communication, clarification and implementation of College policies and procedures.  Provides leadership through planning, implementation and evaluation of the academic program. Engages in teaching, advising, scholarship and service activities.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education:  Earned doctoral degree in the nursing, health, or related field from a regionally accredited college/university required.  Masters degree in nursing required if doctorate degree is not nursing.

Experience:  Previous administrative and/or supervisory experience in higher education is preferred.  Three years of recent college-level teaching experience is required.  Minimum 2 years prior clinical experience preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration:  Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia and/or compact state.

Other Minimum Qualifications:  Outstanding leadership and management abilities. Strong oral and written communication skills. Understanding of educational principles and methodologies. Effective in budget planning, implementation, execution and evaluation as well as strategic, operational and contingency planning.  Proficient with common Microsoft applications.
