About Our Organization
The School of Nursing, accredited by the NLN and an academic affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital, offers a curriculum leading to an MS degree for both non-nurse and registered nurse college graduates and a Certificate of Advanced Study for post-MSN students. A Doctor of Nursing Practice degree was initiated fall, 2007 and an accelerated baccalaureate degree in nursing opened in May, 2008. Our highly respected nursing faculty participates in scholarly and clinical work that contributes to their ability to prepare students for nursing in a variety of settings and for basic and advanced practice. Specialty concentrations are available in adult, family, gerontological nursing, pediatrics, acute care, psych/mental health, adult and child, and women’s health.

Job Description
The School of Nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applicants with experience in educational administration to apply for the position of Associate Director for Nursing Administration and Program Development.

Responsibilities of the Associate Director include collaboration with the Dean in enhancing development activities within the program of nursing; and providing leadership in external affairs related to continuing education, clinical facility development within the Partner’s Health Care system, facilitating external funding activities of faculty; and assisting in providing leadership in the collaborative development and implementation of interdisciplinary initiatives within the Institute community. Additionally, the Associate Director will provide leadership regarding overall program direction, participating as a member of the administrative team in all areas for the School of Nursing.

Faculty responsibilities related to a ranked appointment as a member of the Institute’s faculty and teaching responsibilities will be based on the applicant’s interests and the needs of the graduate program in nursing.

Qualifications
Successful candidates will have experience in nursing administration and educational program development and evaluation. An MS in nursing and a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field are required, as is eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
