Job Overview

Recognized in 2012 by The Chronicle of Higher Ed as one of the “Great Colleges to Work For” as well as one of the Detroit Free Press’ “Top 100 Work Places in Michigan,” Davenport is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking leader to direct its new online MSN program. 

The Associate Department Chair responsible for overseeing the ongoing development of the MSN nursing program. This includes the overall discipline specific educational degree requirements as required by national accreditation standards. Additionally this role will collaborate with nursing specific classes offered in online, blended and in-seat formats. Previous supervisory/management experience will be needed as this role is responsible for the hiring, training and development of adjunct faculty. 

The desired candidate for this exciting opportunity will have at least five years of teaching experience in higher education including in an online environment. Expertise in curriculum development is valued. Experience with accreditation process will be essential to this new program. Strong communication skills will be needed as this role will work with a diverse student population including adult learners, international students and more. Candidates must possess high ethical standards and demonstrated sound judgment in decision making. A MSN is required; earned Doctoral degree or Doctoral degree in progress is preferred.
