Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is currently accepting applications for an Associate Dean-Nursing. This position reports to the Dean-Health Professions and is responsible for providing vision, leadership and administrative oversight for the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) programs.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, directing, supporting and, in collaboration with the Dean, evaluating nursing program staff; working with the Dean to plan, direct and evaluate the nursing programs and keep curricula current; ensuring curricula is in compliance with all relevant agency guidelines and highest educational standards; developing and coordinating partnerships, internships and practicum sites with local health agencies; managing, evaluating and co-producing with faculty and the Dean the evaluation of the nursing program’s progress in attaining ICCB/NCA outcome goals; writing, in collaboration with ADN faculty, the self-study for the Accrediting Commissing for Education in Nursing (ACEN); providing leadership for ADN faculty in order to maintain program approval by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation; supporting collaborative working relationships; meeting with students, faculty and staff to resolve a variety of programmatic and classroom problems that affect the educational process; maintaining a learning environment consistent with current trends in theory and practice for teaching the traditional and non-traditional learner; working with the Dean to develop a comprehensive schedule of nursing program classes that meet student needs, maximizes the use of facilities and equipment, is cost effective, and sensitive to the needs of faculty and staff; providing oversight for preparation and submission of appropriate program reports for grant-funded programs, accreditation or system reporting; and developing, implementing and assessing annual programmatic objectives in relation to the college’s planning and budgeting process. 

Minimum requirements for this position include a master’s degree in nursing; a current state license (or the eligibility to obtain one) to practice nursing in the State of Illinois; and post-secondary teaching experience and/or relevant work experience.  Qualified candidates will show evidence of effective working relationships with external and internal audiences; have a successful record of innovative education and management practices and a willingness to assume risk; a successful record of sensitivity to diversity issues; an ability to provide leadership in an institution where differences are valued; a demonstrated knowledge about learning college philosophies and best practices in teaching and learning; and have a proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.  Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and drug-screen.
