Ohio University Zanesville is seeking candidates for Assistant Professor of Nursing, tenure-track position. Available August 24, 2015. To teach medical-surgical nursing courses. Teaching will be primarily at the associate and BSN degree level. The individual is expected to plan, implement, and evaluate instruction using various methods and delivery modes. Advising is considered to be part of the instructional role, and faculty participate in these activities. Participation in scholarly activities that will lead to the identification and development of an area of scholarly interest and expertise. Service activities will occur within the School of Nursing, the College and Regional Campus, the University, and the discipline of nursing. Service activities will include, but do not need to be limited to, committee work, special assignments, active participation in professional groups, and relevant community activities. General faculty responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours per semester, academic advising, scholarship and professional development, campus and university governance and community service. It is expected that faculty will modify courses for distance learning where appropriate.
The Zanesville Campus is one of five regional campuses of Ohio University offering ten bachelor’s and five associate’s degrees and the first two years of general studies in many majors. Approximately thirty-eight tenured or tenure-track faculty, fifteen non-tenure track faculty and sixty part-time faculty teach at the campus. The campus lies in a suburban setting in the City of Zanesville with a population of 28,000 and a service district of 180,000. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing. Holds a current license or eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio as a registered nurse. A Master’s degree with a major in nursing is required by the time of application. At least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.

Preferred Qualifications: A doctorate in nursing or a related field is preferred. At least five years’ experience in the nursing profession with at least two years as a faculty member in ADN or BSN program.
