The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is currently seeking an Ambulatory Care Clinical Supervisor for our Far East Health Centers located in Bay Point, Brentwood and Antioch. The incumbent will be primarily based in Antioch and is expected to travel between the three sites.


Responsibilities include planning, organizing and supervising professional nursing services, monitoring the quality of nursing care provided and ensuring that nursing services and care meet all regulatory standards including Prepaid Health Plans (PHP), Joint Commission and Title 22. Duties include planning, assigning, supervising and managing the work of professional and non-professional nursing personnel engaged in performing nursing services for a variety of Ambulatory Care Programs, as well as interviewing, hiring and orienting nursing staff, clerical staff and dental assistants.


Minimum qualifications include a current, valid and unrestricted California RN license, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and 3 years of full-time experience as an RN in an acute care hospital or hospital-based ambulatory care health center, 1 year of which must have been in a Charge Nurse or Head Nurse capacity.  Two additional years of experience as a Charge or Head Nurse may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree in Nursing, hospital or healthcare administration may be substituted for 1 year of RN experience.
