Assistant/Associate Professor Nursing Faculty

University of Colorado Denver, College of Nursing, Denver CO

We seek highly qualified individuals to join our dynamic faculty in a top ranked research university.

The College of Nursing invites candidates to apply for faculty positions as Assistant or Associate Professors in the tenure or clinical teaching tracks. We are seeking four faculty with teaching credentials and clinical expertise in nursing. The following are priority areas:

  • Adult Health in Acute and Critical Care Settings

  • Adult and Geriatric Care in Chronic Illness

  • Psychiatric/Mental Health Care

The University of Colorado Denver is a research intensive university located in the Denver metropolitan area, Gateway to the Rocky Mountains. The College of Nursing offers four degrees: BS, MS, DNP, PhD. We are known for the advancement of nursing as the art and science of human caring and as the birthplace of the nurse practitioner role. We have recently moved to a visionary health sciences campus with state of the art teaching, research, and practice facilities. Our clinical affiliates – University of Colorado Hospital, The Children’s Hospital, and Veterans Affairs Medical Center – are renowned leaders in theory-guided and evidence-based practice and translational research with diverse clinical populations.

Qualifications Include:

  • Earned doctorate in nursing or related field

  • National certification as a clinical nurse specialist/nurse practitioner or eligibility as appropriate to position

  • Experience in higher education and record of scholarship commensurate with graduate faculty appointment preferred

  • Colorado registered nursing license or eligibility

Rank and Salary:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications; tenure-track positions require evidence of a clearly articulated research program and scholarship; clinical teaching track positions include practice and clinical scholarship.

Positions Begin:

January 1, 2009 or thereafter
