ADN Nursing Faculty: Mental Health (09-10-0016)

University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, College of Health Sciences, Fort Smith, AR

The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith is located on a beautiful 140-acre campus in Fort Smith, Arkansas, a historic city of more than 80,000. In January 2002, the institution moved from two-year to university status, and all members of the University team are currently engaged in development and growth. UA Fort Smith has been a leader in learning since 1928 and is the sixth largest university in Arkansas. UA Fort Smith serves more than 20,000 people annually in credit and noncredit programs.

Responsibilities include classroom and clinical teaching in the BSN program in the School of Nursing. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, recruitment, and retention activities; ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum; professional development; scholarly activity; participation in program, college and university committees and activities that benefit the School of Nursing, College of Health Sciences and the university. Will perform other related duties as required.

Minimum requirements include a master’s degree in nursing (doctorate preferred); clinical experience in mental health nursing; and an Arkansas RN license (or eligibility). Desired qualifications include prior teaching experience in an ADN program; demonstrated experience and leadership skills in the development of instructional materials; ability to use technology as a teaching and learning tool; collaborative active learning; excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; and a commitment to high professional standards. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.
